Bold and Bizarre Games Bulletin | November 2025

You've come hungry for niche and bewildering games, haven't you, and we're happy to oblige. We have a fine selection of interactive treats for your perusal today, I hope you're ready.

Follow on Steam

#1 Black Pellet

Coming Soon, Steam | Raisel Edwards

I bloody love claymation. Can't get enough of that slightly off-kilter feel it gives to everything. It inherently suits the weird, and Black Pellet ticks that box nicely. The other thing with clay, right, is that the projects are usually (understandably) smaller in scope; platformers and shmups and such. Black Pellet on the other hand is an open-world affair with guns and exploration and vehicles and dog armour. Yes. It's ambitious, then. And I'm here for it.

Oh, and the Kickstarter is currently live, if this looks like the kind of project you'd like to see made flesh (clay).

#2 No Players Online

Out Now, Steam, Itch.io |Adam Pype, Black Lantern Collective

On the same day that we released It Takes a War, another game about a multiplayer shooter that might actually not be a multiplayer shooter launched. No Players Online was actually first released in 2024 (and can still be played today), but has since been bulked out and polished up with a more formidable full release. With a fictional OS wrapper and plenty of big ideas, NPO is a memorable experience for multiple reasons.

NOTE: As I hit send on this email, No Players Online has been pulled from Steam due to a DMCA claim. Itch.io still standing, however.

#3 DateBoy

Out Now (Free), Steam | Anton Pätsi, Henri Pätsi

We've all been there, haven't we. You're on a date, and need to converse with your prospect love interest, but you also really want to play that new game you just picked up. DateBoy is a thirty minute (free!) game that has you secretly playing your just-legally-distinct-enough handheld console under the table while on a date. What a set up. Shout-out to Zach of Sub-Verge fame for putting me onto this one.

#4 Demon Stick

Coming Soon, Steam | Artur Latkovsky

I've always been a big fan of Hieronymus Bosch; The Garden of Earthly Delights is one of my favourite pieces of art - Mother says it's because my own sins are reflected in the scene. ANYWAY. Demon Stick taps into a similar aesthetic, combining the Dutch painter's distinct visual style with rage mechanics and a silliness at odds with the art. There's a new Demo, and I reckon you should give it a go.

#5 Blippo+

Out Now, Steam | YACHT, Telefantasty Studios, Panic

Forgive me. I have failed you. Blippo+ should have been featured in last months' newsletter - it released on September 25th - but for some disgusting reason it flew under my radar. But here we are now, then! Blippo is a Playdate game featuring a TV where the channel can be changed with the crank. Neat concept. And so Blippo+ is the PC/Colour/All-bells-and-whistles release for Steam. As far as I can tell, this has been criminally overlooked so far, so get at it.
