Bold and Bizarre Games Bulletin | October 2025
You've come hungry for niche and bewildering games, haven't you, and we're happy to oblige. We have a fine selection of interactive treats for your perusal today, I hope you're ready.
#1 Mind Diver
Out Now, Steam | Indoor Sunglasses
Mind Diver snuck its way into my TikTok feed months back and never left - been keen to talk about it for months and now seems like the time. Essentially it's a murder-mystery, right, but it takes place in the mind of a lady called Lina. You're investigating her mind - the Mind Ocean - but in each scene (or memory), there's something missing. So you have to work it out, and replace it. Ignoring the innovative concept, it's just a gorgeous game, with a very distinct sense of self.
#2 Pocket Boss
Demo Out Now, Steam | Playables
Do you remember Kids? Not those loud things we used to be before adults, but the game from Playables (which was one of our partner games last year)? Well Pocketboss is the new game from the same developers! In this latest interactive oddity, you're a remote employee "working with business data" to make your boss happy. The game involves manipulating various charts, and solving a bunch of data puzzles to ensure that productivity is going up, up, up!
#3 The Remake of the End of the Greatest RPG of All Time
Coming Q1 2026, Steam | Coin Drop Games, Lucas Immanuel
The Remake of the End of the Greatest RPG of All Time (TRotEotGRPGoAT) is a remake of the last hour of a fictional JRPG with Director's Commentary. It is deliciously meta, and I'm very much a fan of the meta (have you played the It Takes a War demo yet, btw?). So it's kind of a JRPG, but it's also a deduction puzzle game, complete with digital manual and archive footage from the game's (fictional) development. I think I'm explaining this pretty badly, so go play the Demo (which was made available during Next Fest).
#4 Effulgence RPG
Out Now, Steam | Andrei Fomin
Look at this thing! The entirety of Effulgence's world is built from text symbols which are then arranged in 3D space, creating a striking ASCII-aesthetic quite unlike anything else. The enemies of Effulgence - being made of particles themselves - can be killed and farmed for resources, then repurposed and printed into weapons, gear and other mechanisms.
#5 Final Sentence
Early Access Out Now, Steam | Button Mash, Polden Publishing
Battle Royale. Typing Game. Would a wonderful fusion of genres! Final Sentence was definitely a stand-out from October's Steam Next Fest, offering an experience where one wrong key-stroke results in a bullet to the brain. "Type fast, and type accurately" the game tells you - creating this wonderful sense of pressure that is immediately arresting.
Reminder! Pantaloon's partnered games for September is: Ballionaire
ICYMI, this month we've partnered with Raw Fury to bring you Ballionaire - the roguelike pachinko game.
If you've not told us you want a key yet, do that in either one of our emails from October, or our Welcome Email if you’re a new subscriber. We'll be dropping the game on October 31st (we’ve pushed this by a day to offset a delay in this month’s puzzle).
Ok. October done.
See you next month x
pantaloon.
